Meats Judging Contest

​​The annual meats contest involves meat identification, judging classes of beef, pork, and lamb carcasses, primal and retail cuts. Contestants are also presented with questions on certain classes and must give oral reasons. A written quiz, yield grading/quality grading is given to assess the contestant's familiarity with the breakdown of all three species.

Livestock Judging Contest

This is a contest for students to test their knowledge and judging ability for eight classes of livestock. The classes include cattle, pigs, sheep, and sometimes even goats.

Stockmen's Contest

4-H and FFA members from across the state compete to earn the coveted high point individual and team awards. The students face tough quizzes, live animal judging, equipment identification, feed identification, and breed identification of multiple species.
